Hospital Visit Today

Nice gown! LoL

I've been having menstrual-like cramps for a few days now so I called the doctor's office to make sure it was normal. She said it was probably contractions, but that she would have the nurse call me back. Four hours later they still hadn't called, I figured it wasn't a big deal so I picked up a shift at work. Of course as soon as I pick up a shift, they call, I miss the call, realize it an hour later, call back, and she says it's probably just round ligament pain, but the doctor wants you to go to L&D to make sure you're not in labor and to check fetal movement. OK, so it's 4:45, Chris gets off at 5, I wait for him, lots of traffic (feeling perfectly fine by this point by the way), finally gets home, then we leave. Arrive at hospital, get naked, wear gown that shows my butt (hehe), carefully walk from bathroom to my area in triage and hide under the sheets, wait, wait some more, wait some more, nurse shows up, asks me questions like does chris beat me lol "yes he does" j/k :) then hooks me up to monitors, contractions and fetal heart rate, two contractions right away apparently (didn't even feel the first one), then I finally get my hubby to come sit with me. She tells me if I have more than 6 in an hour then I will get my cervix checked to see if I'm dilating. Poor Chris was so sleepy and tired, he had a long horrible day at work. I was starving and couldn't eat anything in case they were labor contractions. I knew we would be there for a while so I went prepared with my IQ puzzles :) Fetal heart rate monitor is such a pain, apparently sometimes my little pumpkin didn't have a heart rate or it was like 200. Crazy thing caused so much anxiety so I focused on my puzzles instead. I watched the little paper print out my contractions, I could've sworn I only had 4, but apparently I was having a lot more than 6 in an hour 30-40 seconds long, I just didn't feel them all. I was definitely there for more than an hour. Cervix checked (worse feeling ever, I felt so violated), tight and  firm :) Very good news! My little girl isn't planning on coming out soon and that makes us happy. We are not ready lol, still have so much to do. Doctor said I was fine, but wanted to give me a muscle relaxer to relax my uterus and give me a break. The nurse told me it was more of a comfort thing, but I refused. I wasn't in any real pain. I didn't feel the majority of them and the ones I did were just like mild menstrual cramps, nothing unbearable. I don't want to take anything unless it is absolutely necessary. Since everything else looked good, I was allowed to go home, but if they got worse or regular then to come back. It was about 10 o'clock by this point and I was STARVING! Good thing Hooters is right down the street :D On our way to Hooters I called my mom to let her know. I didn't want to panic anyone so I didn't want to call until I knew what was going on. Thankfully everything is ok!

* Baby Girl I'm so glad you decided not to come out today :) Mommy and Daddy still have a lot to do, not to mention you do, too! Keep working at those lungs, brain and immune system :) Mommy didn't expect to go to the hospital today, she just called the doc and asked a little question, just looking for some reassurance that it was normal. Mommy's body is just preparing itself for your big day. You don't like monitors, you shy away from them or kick them :) I definitely think you will be a little soccer player lol We love you little munchkin! Abuelita is making plans to be here in the beginning of May, so wait for her to get here, ok? Mommy's going to bed now, we had a long day today mijita! Te quiero!

Love,
 Mommy ♥♥♥♥
